Profile

About me

After my Abitur [high school graduation] I completed an apprenticeship as legal assistant and subsequently worked in the legal field at a labour court for 6 years. In order to combine my acquired specialist know-how with my enthusiasm for languages and cultures I gained a qualification as translator and multilingual secretary.

What I find interesting about the profession of translator is that it combines specialist and linguistic expertise and I repeatedly face the challenge of having to learn new subjects and specialist fields, having to constantly consolidate my language skills in the various languages and learn various computer programmes and thus constantly extend my horizon.

I was employed at an international language service provider as translator and project manager for three years. This activity included on the one hand translating from the English and Spanish language into German and on the other hand the order processing of more extensive translation projects, i.e. the acceptance of orders, the instructions of, supervision and control of the translator and interpreter colleagues, monitoring the deadlines as well as the invoicing.

I subsequently realised what I had been planning for many years - to become a freelance translator.
